Reply with quote | #1 | well i has stripped the carpet out of my laser last winter because the padding underneath was moldy and the carpet had many stains and cig burns in it. finally got around to buying a new carpet off ebay and laying some dynamat(sound deadening material). here are a few pics of the process.

i still have to get some pictures of the carpet installed and in its just too bright out for me to get any good ones.. __________________ 94 Laser 1.8l

Reply with quote | #3 | the new carpet is black. and i plan on putting the dynamat round the rear speakers and front dash speakers. also ganna do both inside skin and under molding on the doors as well as add speakers in the doors. hook up the infinty kappy 5 amp im ordering and then the car will be complete sound system wise. __________________ 94 Laser 1.8l

Reply with quote | #4 | Are you planning on doing anything behind the seats? I know when I was still driving my 1G that was the problematic part of the car for sound coming in, especially the stock sound deadening material behind the trim pieces as it helps about as much as a paper towel. I bet a good layer of Dynamat along there would help somewhat. __________________ 1997 Eclipse Spyder 2.4L - Hardly ever driven

Reply with quote | #6 | you should wrap your whole car in dynomat that would be epic
no but really lol
i drive is right there is alot of sound that comes from the area right behind the back seats and as well as around the trim areas but its your discretion i suppose
btw +1 on restoring the interior instead of gutting it like alot of people on here do lol

Reply with quote | #11 | There's really not a lot you can do with the glass on the hatch, but there's still a tremendous amount of road noise coming from the bottom of the car. I bet a good layer of Dynamat from the backseat to the taillight area and all around would really quiet up the car. __________________ 1997 Eclipse Spyder 2.4L - Hardly ever driven
